Named for the American Legion Post that once leased the land, Legion Lake Lodge is a quiet lakeside retreat, featuring cabins, casual dining, and limitless adventure. Legion Lake is located on the southern portion of the Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway near Mt. Coolidge and Badger Hole.

About Legion Lake Lodge

Legion Lake Lodge is a resort area within Custer State Park, complete with cabins, a restaurant, store, and activities. It's perfect for summer picnics, lazy days at the beach, and treks into the outdoors. You can fish, boat, and swim at Legion Lake, or rent a variety of watercraft vehicles. You can also pick up fishing licenses, park passes, and all the supplies you might need at the Legion Lake General Store.

Cabins

Effortlessly accessible yet expertly hidden along Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway, Legion Lake Lodge's cabins are well worth the wait. Beach access is a short walk away, and the row of sleeping cabins up top feature novelty library ladder lofts and close neighbors for intimate group gatherings around the campfire. Softly showered on the other side of the hill, cabins feature kitchens, decks and/or lake views. Delight in quaint, intimate, breezy days at the beach with hiking, snacks and a canoe. Dockside Grill, our property restaurant, offers some of the only lakeside dining in the Black Hills. Our menu features quality family-friendly entrees with full tableside service, both inside and on the Deck.
